Brunch Spotlight: The Rabbithole
If brunch was an Olympic sport I'm pretty sure I'd get the Gold. But seriously, we all know brunch is THE REAL breakfast of champions, and just so happens to be my favorite meal of the day. I've decided then, to start a new series--'Brunch Spotlight', because what better way to celebrate my happy time.
First up on my soon-to-come long list of must-try brunch spots, The Rabbithole. Located in Williamsburg, this quaint and unsuspecting restaurant has never disappointed me. Chose this place on a whim and now, I'd consider myself a regular.
Although from the street view it looks quite small and narrow, if you ask to be seated in the back, there are marble tables accompanied by vintage cushioned seating that gives the restaurant a chic, but homey vibe. Not to mention, they also have a beautiful garden area that's well-suited for groups. Definitely good for one of those cooler summer evenings when you won't melt right into your food.
I must confess that I haven't made it for dinner yet because the brunch/lunch menu is so good and I'm still exploring it. I have a few favorites on this menu, starting with one item that isn't pictured here and that is The Stuffed French Toast made with homemade brioche & strawberry mascarpone.... NEED I SAY MORE?!?!?
But these are a few of my other favs that I love: The Maple Walnut granola w/ fresh fruit and mint is heaven in a bowl. There's a nice balance between the granola & yogurt, and the fresh mint adds brightness in every bite.
JGFWHDKWHDIDOPWD. <<<<<<< That's how I feel about this bacon. It's perfectly caramelized with maple & spices but still has the right amount of crispiness--it's like candy to a baby. A grown baby. A grown baby that can't stop eating this bacon.
And of course, what we all really came for--The avocado toast. The chicest, trendiest brunch item I could order, but when in Williamsburg, right? Right, so here we have a classic served on wholegrain toast with juicy tomatoes & bright red onions, you really can't go wrong. And I'm sorry but, sunny-side-up just isn't my style. Runny yolks don't do it for me.
All in all, The Rabbithole has a simple menu, but simple done right. Simple done good. I will continue to try the menu, as hard as it is for me to switch-up when I've found my favorites. Maybe I'll live my life on the edge and even try dinner. Maybe. What can I say, I'm a creature of habit, and man I love that bacon.
