Brunch Spotlight: Root & Bone

We’ve already established how much I love brunch, and the truth is whenever I have a day off I try to make it a priority to try some place new. As this is usually a week-day, I rarely have to wait in the expected lines for food. Most times it’s just me at the restaurant, just the way I like it.

This week I tried a new one off my Yelp favorite’s list- Root & Bone. From the reviews I can already tell that this place is popular and I’m surprised it just popped up on my radar. The set-up at this restaurant is classic brunch-style with the banquet tables, and some menu items suggest that it’s made for sharing.

I ordered the biscuits with gravy, deviled eggs, and 1/2 fried chicken. As you can see from these photos everything looked amazing! The deviled eggs are deceiving as their size is much smaller than photos suggest, but they’re almost too pretty to eat. Of course, I still did.

The biscuits are served warm with a honey glaze and side of gravy. It’s also accompanied by some salt and herbs—the suggested way to eat them is (1st) rip, (2nd) dip, (3rd) sprinkle. I have to say this was my favorite part of the meal.

And last but not least, the chicken. I have to say that the crunch was out of this world and the honey-hot sauce they give you really amplifies it so much. But on its own, it lacked flavor and spices. I meannnnn, you know how we do in my culture :))

All in all I would say this place is definitely a GO! best tried with a group of friends just passin around a basket of chicken.

Sincerely,
