More Pink

Per my last Post..lol. I wrote about why I’m wearing Pink in October, so if you haven’t read that, ahhem, please refer to my previous notes. (practicing my business email lingo)
So, before October is over I wanted to dedicate one more post to the cause. This look is a bit more subdued, balanced by some Fall neutral tones. This look is so cozy and perfect for those sunnier days when there’s a slight chill in the air that makes you want to wrap yourself in your favorite sweater and sit in a window at a cafe, writing in your journal (aka scrolling instagram & switching between the same 3 apps for hours) and drinking coffee. Very Carrie Bradshaw. But make it millennial.
Today I was thinking more about seasons, and how weather can have an extreme impact on my mood. For example, my mood on a sunny day is drastically different than on a day that’s rainy and thundering. I won’t go as far as to say i suffer from seasonal depression, but the less sun & light I get, the easier it is for me to recoil and revert to introverted tendencies. I’m like a plant in that way. Warmth and sun and light all bring out the positive and social aspects of my personality. That’s not to say that a little thunder and rain sets me in a negative or despondent way, because who doesn’t love a good excuse to get cozy, but the tone of my day would definitely be more somber.
Thinking about the literal implications of weather and how it affects me, I also translate that to the metaphorical way that outside conditions can affect my inner thoughts, emotions or feelings. Sometimes I let outside influences dictate my mood or train of thought so much that I’d let someone else’s negativity ruin my day. Once I allow that negativity to affect me, it can be hard to shake it and it can set my entire day off-track. So, to bring this full circle, I guess what I’m saying is, I’m working hard to manage my inner happiness and my inner sunshine. So that even if there’s some bad weather or a bad vibe, it doesn’t dictate my mood or emotions. I might not have control over outside sources but I do control my response to it.
Sheesh. I know I stretched that one, but I’m realizing there can be a lesson in anything, big or small. I hope that you too try to avoid giving other people or situations control over you.
Sincerely,
Tiffany Simone
